Triple Frontier Region Closes the High School Trips
“The trips of the Education for Sustainable Development program are interconnected. Every destination has been planned out to tackle a curriculum area. When a student gets to 11th grade, he/she completes the UNESCO cycle of sustainability objectives”. Upon such remark, the curriculum coordinator, Paula Moro, explains the importance of the High School trips that will take place from March 5th to 9th in 2018.
This school year, we have included a new destination to the program: Foz do Iguaçu, a Brazilian city that borders Argentina and Paraguay, and where Iguaçu Falls and Itaipu Power Station are located. The multidisciplinary trip will be taken by the students in 10th and 11th grades, who will visit not only the triple frontier region, power station, and Iguaçu Falls, but also the Technological Park in Itaipu, a place that brings together science, technology, and innovation.
Juliana Viola, our High School principal, states the importance of the trips as curriculum components. She would like to invite parents for a meeting on November 21st from 8 to 8:30a.m. in the Chapel auditorium in order to discuss details about these trips. She also informs that students will have a meeting to learn about the trips on November 22nd. Enrolment will take place between 22nd and 28th of November. “This will be a unique opportunity for the students. Teachers and high qualified monitors were chosen to make this moment meaningful for the lives of all”, explains Ms. Viola.
The trips will take place in 2018, from March 5th to 9th. The groups will travel to the following cities:
- 7th grade - Paraty (RJ)
- 8th grade - Petar, em Iporanga (SP)
- 9th grade - Extrema (MG)
- 10th and 11th grade - Foz do Iguaçu (PR)
